Shipping - Making Partial Shipments

Overview

We have updated our Shipment functionality to have multiple shipments managed per order. Previously, the entire order had to be manufactured and processed before being shipped, or it had to be managed internally by manually editing the Packing Slip generated by Flows. This latest iteration of Shipments allows you to have more flexibility as Flows tracks pieces that are scheduled for manufacture.

This article takes you through the latest updates, and builds on the basic principles of Shipments as outlined here.

Shipments

When an order is created, if the "Whole Order Shipment" flag is selected in the Order, Flows will create an associated shipment. Shipments allow you to manage the shipment details of the order as they leave your manufacturing plant, including Package Details (name, address etc), Shipping dates and Tracking Numbers.

When an order is first created, Flows will create a shipment for the entire order, including all pieces to be manufactured. As line items are confirmed and runs are created, this Shipment will be updated to reflect the pieces that are currently in production.

Dispatch

Once you are ready to send a partial Shipment, you will be able to see all pieces that have been scheduled for production. Scanning the QR code at the bottom left of the Shipment Packing Slip will allow you to quickly view the Packing List in QR

Once this shipping run has been completed, new pieces that are scheduled for manufacture will be added to a new Shipment Record and will be visible in the Order page under Shipments

Shipping Runs

Within the Shipping Run page, we have added a Shipment section so that you can directly access the Packing Slip document and the Shipment page for this run.

We have updated this Packing List functionality so that users can directly enter the shipping information into the QR app, including updating Status, Actual Shipping Dates, Cost and Tracking number. Users can jump straight back into the Shipping Run by clicking the View Run button.
